Who is responsible for the Congress high command dilly dallying on making Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as the Chief Minister?
Ask Mahila Congress president Ganga Bhavani; she has the answer. Ganga Bhavani said it was former Telugu Mahila president Roja who would be held responsible if Jagan does not become Chief Minister. “Everything was okay, till this Maha Talli met YSR and decided to join the Congress. Our leader died. Later, when everything was working out well for Jagan to become the CM, she went and met him. And it has made high command to have other thoughts. I don’t want to call her iron leg. Let the people decide,” she said.
The Mahila Congress president accused Roja of coming to YSR’s residence in full-make up and wearing silk saree to pay homage to the departed leader. “She should apologise for making derogatory comments against YSR when she was in the TDP. She should rub her nose on the earth before Gandhi Bhavan in front of the people and the media, before coming into the Congress. Otherwise, we will not allow her,” she said.

It is now evident that the Congress high command will not succumb to the pressure tactics of the state Congress leaders to make Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as Chief Minister, a section of the Congress is bringing to the fore the name of Vijayalakshmi, wife of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Several district Congress committees are learnt to be adopting resolutions that the Congress high command consider the name of Vijayalakshmi, if it is not interested in considering the name of Jagan for various reasons. “When an uneducated woman like Rabri Devi can rule Bihar state, why can’t Vijayalakshmi garu, who observed her husband’s adminstraton in such close quarters,” a Congress leader argued.
That looks silly. And these Congress leaders are going crazy. “When Sonia is not able to accept the candidature of Jagan, who has at least some experience in politics, how can she accept Vijayalakshmi?” a senior journalist wondered.
Does the state cabinet have to be formed again, in the wake of swearing in of K Rosaiah as the Chief Minister?
While everybody ignored this aspect, senior High Court advocate S Ramachandra Rao said the Cabinet got automatically dissolved soon after the death of ex-Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Since Rosaiah took the oath as new Chief Minister (there is no such thing as caretaker CM in the Constitution), he has to form a new Cabinet. The decisions taken by the so-called Cabinet or the resolutions passed therein would be null and void, since it would not be treated as official cabinet meeting. “The high command has asked me to continue the old Cabinet,” Rosaiah said on Saturday. But according to Ramachandra Rao, even if the old Cabinet members are retained, they have to take a fresh oath. “I will go by the advice of the Governor, as per the Constitution,” Rosaiah said.
It means, all the Cabinet members will take oath afresh in Rajbhavan, most probably by evening. And the Cabinet meeting will have to ratify its earlier decisions again!

When it comes to the life and story of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, it is no less than a memoir of rich experiences and learning points for others. So here is a gist of what lessons one can take in a point sequence.
* Try to smile as long as you can
* Talk with human touch
* Believe in hard work
* Be a strength to those who trust and rely on you
* Determination to achieve what one wants without rest
* Be fearless and take challenges head on
* Keep up the commitments made to others at any cost
* Learn to help others and bring a difference in lives around you
* Have a vision for the future and the society
* Treat one and all with equality and humanity
* Be a pillar of strength for near and dear
* Self discipline and honesty
* Follow the rules and set example for others around
* Believe in serving for the land that you come from
* Kindness, respect and a helping hand always
Given the qualities that YS possesses, it would take a book but then if one is able to implement at least five out of these then they can bring about a huge difference to this world. That’s what YS did and that’s what he expected others to do.
HYDERABAD: There was an outpouring of grief across Andhra Pradesh on Friday with much of the state shutting down to mourn the late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, whose funeral cortege snaked its way through surging crowds from his home here to the stadium where national leaders and people lined up to pay homage.
Several people were injured in a stampede at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here a short while ago, forcing authorities to move the body of the late Andhra Pradesh CM an hour before schedule.
Police failed to control the surging mourners, who broke barricades at several points to rush towards the body kept on a pedestal in the middle of the ground.
Several people were injured, some of them seriously, as police used force to control the crowds. As the situation was going out of control, the late leader's son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had a word with military and police officers to shift the body to Begumpet airport, from where it would be flown to his native Pulivendula town for the funeral.
Though the body was scheduled to be kept at the stadium till 2 pm to enable people to pay their last respects, the situation forced the authorities to move it out at 1 pm.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi were among the many leaders who flew in from New Delhi to condole the death of the chief minister, whose body was found in the forests of Nallamala on Thursday, a day after his helicopter had crashed.
That YSR, as the chief minister was popularly known, was one of the Congress' most powerful leaders was underscored by reports that 67 people had died in the state - either out of shock or by committing suicide - after hearing about the death.
Accompanied by several central ministers, Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi laid wreaths on the body placed in his residence and camp office in Begumpet. They met the late leader's wife Vijayalakshmi, son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who issued an appeal asking people not to commit suicide, and daughter Sharmila.
From the camp office, the body of YSR was taken to the Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan to enable party leaders to pay respect and from there to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, six kilometres away, where he had been sworn in for a second term in office only four months ago.
Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had taken oath as chief minister for a second term on May 20 in this stadium where his body was now brought to enable people to pay their last respects.
Standing in an open top jeep and accompanied by his wife, son and other family members, the 60-year-old had entered the stadium four months ago waving to thousands of his supporters when he took oath.
Though the gathering was huge on Friday too, this time they came to bid a tearful farewell to him. All the way to the stadium were teeming mourners, lined up along the road, on rooftops and packed into the stadium to bid adieu to the man, who had steered the Congress to victory for a second term and died a sudden, tragic death they were still coming to terms with.
Thousands of others accompanied the funeral procession as it slowly made its way to the stadium where leaders from across the political spectrum, including Bharatiya Janata Party's L K Advani, paid tribute.
Hundreds of vehicles followed the flower-bedecked truck in which the body, draped in the national flag, was kept.
Standing by the side of his father's body was his MP son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who was appealing to people to allow the vehicle to move. Holding national flags, some ran towards the truck to have a closer look at the casket and console YSR’s son.
In the rest of state, a silence fell with normal life coming to a crippling halt. Schools, colleges, offices, shops and businesses closed as a mark of respect to the leader, whose last rites will be performed in his native town Pulivendula in Kadapa district later on Friday.
The usual morning bustle was missing as the government declared a two-day holiday -- Thursday and Friday. The state government has declared a seven-day mourning period. Cable TV operators took all entertainment channels off air.
Guntur, Ongole, Kurnool, Nizamabad, Nellore, Warangal... the situation was similar everywhere.
As the people and his family prepared for the funeral at Pulivendula, where YSR's body will be taken by air, the Congress began to grapple with who would fill the void.
Though finance minister K. Rosaiah has been acting chief minister, YSR's loyalists want his 36-year-old son to be made chief minister. Nearly half the 34-member cabinet backs the demand, saying this would be best tribute to YSR.
YSR's iron-like grip over the party ensured that he completed five years without any dissension. Within hours of his death, however, infighting had broken out over who would inherit his legacy.
The world of realpolitik had intervened, even before he could be interred.

If you thought that you had enough of ‘Magadheera’ then wait till you hear this. As per the latest reports, the makers are coming up with a new idea that would entice the audience to come back to the theaters once the film completes 100 days.
There is news that few of the deleted scenes will be replacing some of the scenes in the movie and then, it would be released in selected theatres and that too with selected prints. One such scene is currently being seen at the famous youtube site. There are many such scenes that would come for about 25 minutes it seems!
All this will be done after ‘Magadheera’ completes 100 days and for the compilation, they are said to be looking at delete old scenes. The second release will happen only at selected main theaters and with reasonable number of prints only. Many say that this is also a good business strategy and this would surely get a fair share of revenue.
Off late, the veteran comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam is getting noted not just for his comedy acts but also for his political satires. It is a known fact that Dharmavarapu happens to be a staunch Congressman and dedicates a good deal of time towards party activities as well.
Apparently, Dharmavarapu is seen in the Sakshi news channel for a small bit program titled ‘Ding Dong’, a political satire. On Saturday night, he was seen again with his bit and this time, his target was none other than megastar Chiranjeevi.
In ‘Ding Dong’, Dharmavarapu asked ‘What is reason for the increasing weight of Chiranjeevi despite failure in politics?’ and then he himself added that it may be due to the affection and love from his fans, with a satirical expression that implies time for Chiru is over and he is still chanting fan-mantra.

Is no secret that Jaysudha’s unfading beauty has become eyesore to many middle aged women in the state. Now it is the turn of many female legislators to envy her looks and figure.
Some have turned curious to know about the secrets of her beauty. She would habitually take those queries as compliments and smile away evading the answer. One female MLA from East Godavari district had been persistently asking about those secrets ever since the ongoing Assembly sessions commenced.
Finally Jayasudha found no option, except to reveal one of the secrets. ‘I sleep for long hours’, the middle aged beauty told. Though the answer was not convincing, the curious MLA said she too would put it into practice.
Jayasudha seldom speaks in the house. Does the sleeping beauty sleep in the Assembly too? Is she encouraging other ladies in the house also to sleep to gain beauty?!

The stage is set for the arrival of ‘Yuva Natasamrat’ Akkineni Nagachaitanya and it is a universal fact that his father happens to be Akkineni Nagarjuna. But interestingly, his mother who was away from the media attention finally came to share her thoughts.
She is none other than Lakshmi, ex-wife of Nag and sister of victory Venkatesh. Currently residing in Chennai, Lakshmi got to share her thoughts about Chaitu. She said he has only looks of father but his heart is like that of her brother Venkatesh.
All this and more was given to the Sakshi paper interview. Lakshmi also said that Chaitu had many options to pursue but since he wanted to become an actor, she said do as he wished and has given her blessings. However, many felt that she had conveyed a message between the lines when she said about the looks and heart of Chaitu.
The big four of the industry – Chiru, Balayya, Venky, Nag have often been deemed as the pillars of the Telugu film circuit and they have been part of Tollywood since decades. However, it is now being noticed that all of them have toned down quite a bit when it comes to interviews and media related events.
It is being said that the Big heroes have not been showing any airs. Some say that they realize that the media has become quite rampant and so they are careful with the fact that one loose talk can land them into major troubles and controversies.
It is said that Nagarjuna, Chiru, Venkatesh and Balakrishna have been imbibing politeness in their talks everywhere and that way, they have been setting a good example for the younger heroes as well. Looks like happy days are here again between the film and the media folks.

On the day of the movie’s release, a shootout took place between Quick Gun Murugun (QGM) and his girlfriend Mango Dolly! A war of words erupted between Telugu star Rajendra Prasad and QGM heroine Rambha, a Telugu girl. The spat took place after Rajendra Prasad told a Telugu newspaper that Rambha had “a miniscule role in QGM, that of a bar dancer”. The actress saw red and refused to be part of any promotion of the film if Prasad was present!
A peeved Rambha said, “It’s wrong to say that I have not taken part in the promotion of the film, though I was hurt with Rajendra Gaaru’s unwarranted attack and snide remarks about my role in the film. I did ask director Shashank Ghosh about his statement. Rajendra has dismissed my role as that of a bar dancer, but that’s not true. My character (Mango Dolly) is very important in the film as it is her guts and determination that helps QGM nail the villain Rice Plate Reddy (played by Nasser). I don’t want to say anything more. Those who saw the film are complementing me on my role and performance.”
Mahesh Babu’s 17 year old nephew Galla Ashok is slated to be launched into movies by a leading production house. Anand, the OYE director, will be directing this college story with Ashok who is still in his intermediate 2nd year. Ashok and his younger brother Siddarth are sons of Mahesh Babu’s elder sister Padma whose mother-in-law is the AP State Minister Galla Aruna Kumari.
Both Ashok and Siddharth are rumored to be tall and handsome like their uncle Mahesh and this seems to be the reason for their potential move to filmland.

AATA Omkar shifts to MAA TV to go against Maghadeera shifts to MAA TV to go against Maghadeera
at 12:29 AM
Omkar started his career in Gemini Music as an anchor and went to become successful producer through Aata program on Zee TV. He has 4 successful seasons to his credit and through his reality shows has made Zee a channel to reckon with. He is upset that Zee management has introduced another reality show by name “Magadheera” which is similar to “Aata”.Maa TV which noticed that Omkar was not happy immediately roped him into their organization and he has accepted to make a program by the name “Challenge” subject to the condition that “Challenge” would be pitted directly against Magadheera in the same time shot. He has cut a promo at a cost of 13 lakhs and launched it with mega director Rajamouli. The show will be on air soon. We will have to see who will win this reality show war.
a Hindi film *ing Rajendra Prasad, Rambha and Nasser among others has ended up stirring an absolutely unwarranted but nevertheless sensitive controversy in Tollywood. The character of “Rice Plate Reddy” played by Nasser is causing outrage among the Reddy community members. They went on air in a leading regional channel and said that Tollywood has been slyly encouraging negative portrayal of the community during the past few years They cited stereotyping of Rayalaseema Reddys’ as factionists (e.g. cited in the television show was that of Obul Reddy character played by Prakash Raj in Okkadu), Telengana Reddys’ as drunkards, womanizers and now they said, that with Quick Gun Murugan, the industry has gone ahead and stereotyped Reddys’ in the coastal belt as hotel owners who are keen to serve beef to unsuspecting customers. Needless to say the generalization is biased and totally wrong. But these things have a funny way of snowballing into controversies unless industry elders step in and nip it in the bud.
